A month of beauty, excitement,
creativity and positivity.
So this year, well so far it
has been wonderfully creative and full of positivity. I was even in the local
paper a few times about my current exhibition which was really exciting! I am still on the Wisbech Standard's website site
until the end of the month, read all about my exhibition on there….
My current Exhibition,
located at the Angles Theatre, is really going very well. Many of the
paintings have already sold. I may have even sold one or two while I type this
blog! Yay!
The preview night on Sunday 3rd Feb, went
fantastically. Lots of people came through the doors and I sold quite a few
paintings. On the night many people were asking if they could order prints of
the originals. So if you pop into the exhibition all of the originals are
available as prints, and it is easy to order them via the Theatre box office.
Small prints and postcards can also be purchased from the corner display
cabinet. (Thanks to the incredibly kind staff at the Angles Theatre.)
I also have an online shop
now via ESTY, where selections of my popular prints are available to buy.
However if there’s an image from either my website or facebook page that people
would like as prints….they can be made to order: etsy.com/shop/julieillustration
On the preview night The 3rd
Wisbech (ST Augus Fines) Scouts
group set up an amazing selection of homemade cakes, nibbles and snacks, from
gluten free sandwiches to princess sparkle cakes. They also did a fantastic job
at presenting the Nexus Tablet to the visitors. (Demonstrating my Ebooks coming
soon). One young scout Daniel was in charge of photography and took many of the
delightful event photos you can see on my illustration facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/JulieIllustration
They did well in donations,
that are all going towards their trip to Scotland.
On the night I met some
wonderful people, some of whom I may collaborate with. From this exhibition’s
publicity, I have had interest from a few Cambridge establishments such as the
popular pub the Devonshire Arms, which has asked if I could exhibit some of my
prints. They are already selling fast.
I have spoken with Gill
Repper, talented artist and member of the artist panel for the Wisbech Art
Group, about a future exhibition at the Angles Theatre and this in discussion
for latter in the year. Possibly August, so I’m waiting on conformation.
I always say follow your
heart and dreams…I’m so glad I did. If there’s something you want in life, go
out and grab it.
I am also considering holding
some art classes within Wisbech over the summer and urge any one who is
interested in this possibility, to contact me via my website. I already have a
few requests.
Further details, photos and
print information can be found on my facebook site. I am currently
working towards my next exhibition in Cambridge Picture House in April. Details
for this will follow….
Find out where The Picture House is: http://www.picturehouses.co.uk/cinema/Arts_Picturehouse_Cambridge/
The exhibition at the
Angles Theatre is open until the end of the month. Please do see the events
page for details.
I would also like to highly
recommend the company I brought my mounts from. They are such lovely people and
the goods are such great quality I urge you to check out their site: http://www.cadremont.co.uk
Creatively this month in-between
mounting and printing…. I am still writing my second book and my Poetry Book
and Dragon School books are ready to be uploaded on to Amazon this month.
I have a few more paintings
to complete for the Exhibition in Cambridge and I am still working on a couple
of exciting book commissions. One for Melrose Publishers due to be published in
September 2013.
Now I am going to once again drink
my lovely herbal super stinky tea and enjoy a little scribble. Have a wonderful
day. :)
